Therapy gets it!

Introduction

Hi! I just wanted to reach out and welcome you to this blog.  The hope is to inform and offer new insights into well-being without forgetting we are all falible and can at times feel vulnerable and struggle to cope with what lifes throws at us.

As a therapist I see clients struggling with all kinds of issues, but generally they all come at it from a lingering sense that something is not quite right, wwhether it be a relationship, employment, a sense of loss or simply feeling they are not where they feel they should be and seek change, often without initially knowing what it is they wish to change.

Understanding the Issue

Whatever the issues clients present with, they explore what underpins these feelings and thoughts, examining their part in the dilemma they face and realising why they feel the way they do and accepting the difficulty for what it is, a sign something isn't right and working out wht it might be that can help.  Breaking things down into manageable 'chunks', naming them, dealing with one aspect of the issue at a time, all go to processing this uncomfortability and over time, alleviate their discomfort to be able to live more fully in the world.

    Why This Happens

Life, aand our experiences within it, impact upon our minds and bodies in often subtle and nuanced ways, leading over time to 'dis-ease', in both the literal and experiential sense, which if left to it's own devices, causes problems later in our lives.  Therapy helps 'pause' the process, to give the mind and body time to re-calibrate, and in doing so 'healing' takes effect in the form of acceptance, establishing new boundaries with others, and in some cases a desire for change begins to take effect.

    Practical Ways to Cope

Therapy is part of the solution but there are lots of other aspects to living a good life we could all benefit from.  To be contined in future blog posts!

I do hope you are feeling there are positive steps you might wish to take to improve your well-being, and I look forward to speaking with you in the future, whether in a session or via other means of communication.

    Take care for now,

    Mark
